Silexica Partners with Renovo Bringing SLX Programming Tools to the AWare Automated Mobility Ecosystem

COLOGNE, GERMANY and CAMPBELL, CALIF., USA  (July 26, 2018) — Silexica (silexica.com), developer of the SLX programming tools, today announced it has joined the AWare ecosystem of Renovo (renovo.auto), a mobility software technology company. Developers of technology for highly automated vehicles (SAE Level 4 and 5) that use Renovo’s AWare OS can now gain access to Silexica’s powerful SLX Programming Tools which analyze and optimize software for heterogeneous multicore processors.

The complexity of software design is evolving rapidly with embedded supercomputers required to deliver trillions of actions every second in systems necessary for autonomous vehicles. Due to the shift to the computing everywhere era with increased connectivity and rapid data processing, new computing architectures are becoming increasingly difficult to program manually. Silexica has been developing SLX programming tools since 2014 to analyze how software runs on new heterogeneous multicore processors and provide deep system-level understanding for developers.

Renovo AWare enables a wide range of software and hardware to operate in a safe, secure, and scalable manner and supports the commercial deployment of fleets made up of highly automated vehicles. AWare has the necessary performance to run today’s most demanding Automated Driving Systems as well as the safety and security features required for automotive validation. The addition of Silexica’s SLX programming tools further establishes AWare as the trusted layer on which developers can develop and deploy software in functionally safe architectures that features multiple computational domains including low-level safety controllers. In addition to the ADS, AWare provides a reliable runtime for all other vehicle applications including teleoperation, mapping, fleet management, and data services. AWare works with any application, any sensor, and any vehicle allowing automated mobility fleet operators the freedom to innovate and expand their offerings while leveraging a growing ecosystem of third-party technologies and services.

“The growing number of developers building on the AWare OS platform for high-performance heterogeneous systems aligns perfectly with our SLX multicore programming tools. This will be a powerful combination enabling power and performance criteria to be met on the very latest hardware.”, said Silexica’s CEO Maximilian Odendahl. “We share Renovo’s vision of an open, interoperable, on-demand ecosystem where best-in-class technologies combine to bring about automated mobility safely, quickly and economically.”

“We enable our customers to deploy fleets of fully automated vehicles, and these deployments are made possible by an open ecosystem of best-in-class technologies from different developers interoperating and running on shared high performance heterogeneous compute resources,” said Chris Heiser CEO and Co-Founder of Renovo. “The addition of Silexica’s SLX Programming Tools to the Renovo AWare ecosystem contributes substantially to enabling this paradigm by helping developers automate the analysis of how their software runs on increasingly complex new computing architectures necessary for true commercial automated mobility.”

Silexica joins the AWare ecosystem along with a growing list of leading companies in the automated mobility sector including Samsung, Verizon, Velodyne LiDAR, Parsons, INRIX, Argus Cyber Security, CARMERA, Affectiva, Civil Maps, EdgeConneX, Understand.ai and Bestmile.
