Silexica’s team is made up of so many awesome personalities and intelligent minds. This time, let’s meet our Senior Field Application Engineer in Japan, Tatsuya Ohigashi!
WHERE AND WHAT?
I live in Saitama and work in the Silexica Japan office in Yokohama, Japan. I am working as a Field Application Engineer to give motivation and clear reason to the customers to buy and use our technology in their development process to accelerate their development team. Also, for a customer specific project, I am acting as a liaison between the customer and the engineering team.
BEST DEVELOPMENTS ABOUT SILEXICA?
Hmmm…(laughs), I joined Silexica about 15 months ago, but I’m still learning everytime, everyday from colleagues. So, I can not tell a big success story, but this is my first time to focus and sell only a software development tool, and Silexica gives me different ideas to approach the customer and points to discuss with customers.
BEST THING ABOUT SILEXICA?
Silexica offers a very flexible work environment. I live far from the Japan office, and the company allows me to work remotely 2-3 days per week.
IF YOU HADN’T BECOME AN ENGINEER, WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING?
Well, this is a difficult question. When I was a kid, I dreamt of becoming a professional baseball player (LO). Maybe if I was not an engineer, then I might be a junior high school teacher.
WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME?
I am really loving playing tennis and spend 4 to 5 hours for practice per week. And if I have a chance, I’m also trying to participate in singles or doubles tennis matches if there is an opportunity.
ADVICE TO FUTURE SILEXICANS?
Keep studying hard and trying to have fundamental wide knowledge. Then focus on the area you are really interested in. Also, do not be afraid of any failures.
